Three Planes Publishing designs roadmaps for navigating life, a thing for which there exists—quite famously— no roadmap. But people have always done it, haven’t they, mapmaking? So we thought creating some new emotional-topographical maps, as vague and unmappable as this terrain may be, might help us, and hopefully others, feel a bit less lost.
Maud Kelly is a poet, essayist, and stage-4 cancer survivor. Megan McGinley, co-owner of the PDX design and creative studio Central Office, is an artist and designer with extensive experience in printmaking. Maud and Megan met in Portland, Oregon, became fast friends, and cried buckets when Maud moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. They decided that even if they couldn’t be together, their words and designs should be, so they started Three Planes Publishing. Descent: Your Guide to the Underworld, is their first book.
